Tutoring for the WEA

e are always looking for new tutors who want to share their knowledge and skills and can provide an interesting course to learners. Whatever your subject area, you are invited to contact us and tell us what you are able to offer. It can be anything from art to yoga. We work with people in a variety of settings – not all of our courses are for general interest/leisure but others are for people within the community and voluntary sector, for people in the work-place, for parent helpers and staff in schools and also for people who, for one reason or another, do not normally attend adult education classes.

If these are the sort of areas you work in – then I’d be delighted to hear from you. Depending on the subject area, we would expect you to have either appropriate subject qualifications or sufficient experience in your field. A qualification in teaching adults is also required but if you do not already hold a teaching qualification, so long as you are prepared to work towards one, we would be pleased to hear from you. If you are new to teaching, we offer advice and support to get you going and give guidance on good professional practice and training opportunities.
